Publisher’s Note: Next Steps

Over 1,100 of you signed up to take part in the four-hour event last month. You heard from innovative companies like Chipotle, Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises, Portillo’s and more. We learned how companies are navigating this new foodservice landscape, finding opportunities in the aftermath and preparing for the reopening process.

The virtual exhibitor booths were full of new product introductions along with COVID-19-related innovations. The idea is to give operators, dealers and foodservice consultants the ability to talk one-on-one with manufacturers, much like at a show—but now from your own homes.

In uncertain times, change and innovation are often the only two constants.

If you missed the live event, don’t worry. The education sessions and booths from that first Virtual NEXT event can be found at fervirtualnext.com through July 14 (log-in is required), giving you access to information you will need as you plan for the road ahead. And, please, keep an eye out for more upcoming live Virtual NEXT conferences and expositions happening in August, October and December.

It’s not easy for any of us out there, that’s for sure. But in uncertain times, change and innovation are often the only two constants. Know that FER is in this with you. Whether it’s our redesigned magazine, our new Digital Solutions Group, a soon-to-be-relaunched website or our proprietary Virtual NEXT trade show platform, we will be here to help you navigate what lies ahead.
