Thompson To Succeed Skinner As McDonald’s CEO

A change at the top for McDonald’s Corp. Jim Skinner, a 41-year company vet and CEO since 2004, is retiring June 30. Current Pres./COO Don Thompson will succeed him. Skinner was one of the architects of the chain’s strategic framework, Plan to Win, which launched its store reimaging and global initiatives. Thompson, a 22-year McD’s vet, also served the Oak Brook, Ill., company as president of McDonald’s USA.
