R.W. Smith Acquired By TriMark

TriMark USA, which acquired Maryland-based Adams-Burch less than a month ago, has made a second major acquisition, this time on the West Coast, purchasing San Diego-based R.W. Smith & Co.

Smith, which got its start selling bar supplies in 1935, ranks 16th on FER’s Top Dealers with verified sales of $101.8 million in 2015.

“Our second acquisition in less than 30 days complements TriMark’s presence in Southern California, extends our distribution into the San Diego and Los Angeles markets, and adds depth in Texas, Florida and Arizona,” says TriMark USA President and CEO Jerry Hyman. TriMark USA, headquartered in South Attleboro, Mass., is the country’s largest dealer, reporting 2015 sales of more than $1.1 billion.

“This is a great day for our company and especially our customers,” says R.W. Smith President Allen Keck. “Joining TriMark offers us the opportunity to expand our products and services while continuing to give our customers the personalized service they have grown to expect. It also gives our employees new opportunities to grow with TriMark’s national footprint.”

Keck will continue to serve as the President of TriMark R.W. Smith.
