Homer Laughlin China Co. represented West Virginia during “Made in America Week” at the White House in July. Only one company from each of the 50 states was selected to be highlighted in the program showcasing American-made products.

“This was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, a whirlwind adventure, really,” says Katie Bricker, director-foodservice marketing at HLC Inc., who represented the company with V.P. Pete Wicks. “Homer Laughlin is so proud to manufacture in the U.S. and to supply jobs to over 800 workers in our community. To have been recognized for our commitment to being ‘Made in America’ was truly remarkable.”

Since its founding in 1871, the Newell, West Va., company has manufactured its dinnerware in America; in 1959, it began offering dinnerware for restaurants, hotels, and institutions. Today it is the largest domestic tableware manufacturer in the United States.
