Public Affairs Conferences Set In D.C., Sacramento

April is the month to talk policy and regulation with lawmakers. Among the hot issues bubbling over, both on the federal and state legislative fronts are restrictive hiring and scheduling mandates, legal reform, and tax reform changes; the California Assembly also is mulling alcohol license restrictions and additional paid sick-leave mandates.

On April 17-18, the National Restaurant Association will host All Politics Are Local, its 32nd annual Public Affairs Conference, in Washington, D.C. Attendees will have a chance to meet with lawmakers and discuss issues relevant to the restaurant industry. Get more information or register here.

A week later, April 24, the California Restaurant Association will hold Restaurant Day at the Capitol. The all-day event at the Hyatt Regency Sacramento will bring California restaurant owners and operators face-to-face with lawmakers to talk about legislative proposals that could significantly impact the restaurant community. The CRA event includes a lobbying workshop and an overview of relevant proposals in the state legislature; appointments are made for operators to meet with their district’s legislators or key policy advisors.
