In Memoriam: R. Paul Toukatly

Paul Toukatly, Co-owner and V.P. of Duffy's Food Equipment Service & Parts, passed away peacefully at home April 9; he was 62. He began working at Duffy’s, the Sauquoit, N.Y., repair service started by his uncle Frank, when he was 12, and spent his entire career in the business, as co-owner with his cousin Patrick Duffy.

While president of the Commercial Food Equipment Service Association, Toukatly oversaw the opening of CFESA’s first Global Training Facility complete with four state-of-the-art equipment repair training kitchens. Dedicated to training and a generous volunteer, he was one of FER’s Industry Service Award recipients in 2017 and received CFESA’s Dedication to Training and Outstanding Service honor. Other honors include FEDA’s Leadership Award, FCSI’s Award of Recognition and the MAFSI Award of Merit. Toukatly also received a NAFEM Doctorate of Foodservice and Award of Merit.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia; two sons, Andrew and Matthew; two daughters, Kathryn and Mary Beth; his parents; three siblings; and 12 grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, please consider contributions in Paul's memory to Christ the King Church or Let them LOL. A water well will be drilled in Sierra Leone in his memory.
