South Carolina Dealer Hires Sales Chief, Expands Offices

There’s a lot going on at Ballentine Food Service Equipment Co. The Greenville, S.C., dealer has hired Tony Calvin, a former manufacturer’s rep and food and beverage director, as its new Director of Sales. Calvin spent 15 years in the resort restaurants at the Omni Grove Park Inn in Asheville, N.C., including tenure as dining room operations manager. He then spent 13 years at Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort, including six years as its food and beverage director. He also worked as a rep at Holland & Associates, selling foodservice equipment throughout the Carolinas.

As Ballentine’s new Director of Sales, he will be responsible for leading a team of seven sales and sales support professionals, developing food equipment sales training programs, and participating in the firm’s senior management team.

“We are excited to welcome Tony to the Ballentine team,” says Dick Elliott, Owner and CEO. “His experience and knowledge of both restaurant operations and commercial food service equipment, coupled with his passion for customer service will be beneficial to all our clients as they select the best tools and equipment needed for their operations."

In other news, Ballentine has consolidated its showroom and store with its operations center in a more than 10,000-sq.ft. renovated facility. The 63-year-old dealer’s expanded footprint at 105 Shaw Street showcases a large display of foodservice equipment along with smallwares, tabletop items, janitorial supplies, and cleaning chemicals; the warehouse holds new and used equipment, furniture and smallwares. Ballentine also has strengthened its service, repair and maintenance programs.
