General Parts Buys DMO Food Equipment

General Parts, the Bloomington, Minn., service company, has acquired Cleveland-based DMO Food Equipment Services. Terms of the deal, which closed April 30, are undisclosed.

“Expansion into the Ohio market has long been part of General Parts’ growth plan,” says the company President Bruce Hodge. “The opportunity to acquire DMO, a highly respected business in a key market, was an obvious choice for us and helps us expand our offering of services while helping us take another step toward fulfilling our national strategy.”

Since 1993, DMO has been providing foodservice equipment service, planned maintenance and installation programs for thousands of restaurants, hotels, hospitals, school districts, and universities throughout northern Ohio and western Pennsylvania. Initially the company will operate as DMO, a division of General Parts, and will retain its existing management team including previous owner Dennis Ozarchuk, who will stay on as the branch manager.

General Parts Group, founded in 1939, distributes O.E.M. parts and provides service for more than 60,000 customers and 400 manufacturers. It has more than two dozen major branch operations in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Washington and Wisconsin.
