A major fire on June 26 destroyed the New Albany, Miss., warehouse where Master-Bilt houses its inventory of newly manufactured cabinet cooling units, but has not significantly impacted the company’s manufacturing.

The early morning fire apparently spread from a neighboring furniture business and consumed the warehouse. No employees were on site, and there were no injuries reported.  The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

Master-Bilt returned to full production the following day. The company’s parent, Standex Refrigerated Solutions Group, has manufacturing facilities at other locations around the country to assist if necessary with inventory replacement.

A press release on the Standex website said MB suffered damage to approximately $7 million in damage to finished goods and another $1 million in damage to warehouse equipment, all insured. It said MB is looking for facilities where it can house new inventory.
