Popeyes Has a 10-Year Plan for China

The 3,100-unit Cajun-spiced chicken chain is making its debut in China. Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen has partnered with TFI TAB Food Investments to develop and open more than 1,500 Popeyes restaurants in the country over the next decade. With the announcement, Popeyes joins Burger King and Tim Hortons, its sister brands under Restaurant Brands Int’l., in the Chinese market. BK has operated in China since 2005 and has more than 1,000 Burger King restaurants there. Tim Hortons made its debut in February, when it opened the first of an anticipated 1,500 stores there.
