Sparta Brush parent CFS Brands is deepening its inventory and foothold on the foodservice brush market. The Oklahoma City company just wrapped up its acquisition of Cepillos El Castor, a top manufacturer of cleaning brushes and HACCP compliant color-coded products in Mexico and Latin America.

Cepillos El Castor has manufacturing operations and corporate headquarters in Guadalajara, Mexico, and has approximately 200 employees. Those employees and company president Eduardo Casas will stay on with the firm, which will remain a stand-alone entity within CFS Brands.

“To become part of the CFS Brands family will allow us to grow faster in the U.S. market and definitely confirm our unquestionable leadership in all of Latin America,” says Casas. “Together, our global presence will also grow rapidly. With this acquisition, we are delivering the manufacturing expertise and the heritage of three generations of brush makers that, together with CFS Brands’ strengths, will create a global leader in this industry.”

The acquisition, according to Trent Freiberg, president and CEO of CFS Brands, “expands our global presence and aligns perfectly with our vision to build the strongest platform of leading brands for light equipment and supplies.”

In addition to Sparta Brush, CFS Brands is the parent company of Carlisle FoodService Products, San Jamar, Dinex, Marko, Snap Drape and Piper.
