Legacy Strengthens Market Position With Acquisition of Admiral Craft

Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based The Legacy Cos. has acquired Admiral Craft Equipment Corp., a manufacturer and distributor of equipment, smallwares and supplies to the commercial foodservice industry.

Founded in 1952, Jericho, N.Y.-based Admiral Craft includes brands such as AdCraft, Black Diamond, Grista, Lunar Ice and U-Star, sold by restaurant equipment dealers throughout North America. The company’s portfolio complements The Legacy Cos. and enhances and strengthens its position in the commercial foodservice industry, says Legacy President Neal Asbury in a press release.

“Admiral Craft’s product offering is complementary to our existing businesses with the potential to further expand key account relationships and capitalize on cross-selling opportunities. With this acquisition, we are further enabled to align our efforts to provide best-in-class practices and products to the ever-changing foodservice industry,” says Asbury.

The Legacy Cos. manufactures and designs products and foodservice equipment under the brands Avanti, Back to Basics, Bevles, Blakeslee, Chef’sChoice, EdgeCraft, Excalibur, General, Greenfield World Trade, Maxx Cold, Maxx Ice, Maxx Scientific, Omega, Vinotemp, Vinturi, WestBend, Yonanas and Zeroll.

The company received an Excellerator Award earlier this year from Excell Foodservice Equipment Dealer Group for achieving double-digit annual growth.
