Employees of the foodservice equipment dealer Wasserstrom recently chipped in at Kitchen of Life, a local nonprofit serving the Columbus, Ohio area.

Kitchen of Life, established in 2022, teaches students social-emotional and life skills through culinary arts in a hands-on group cooking experience, Wasserstrom explains, and helps promote “resilience, connection and a sense of belonging.”

Rodney Wasserstrom, Gary Mangelson, Shelly Myers, Cody Miller and Michal Slominski volunteered for Wasserstrom.

While volunteering, Wasserstrom employees aided a group of three students. They offered encouragement, acted as positive role models, helped participants practice advocating for themselves and more.

Far from a one-off, Wasserstrom says it encourages employees to volunteer for the betterment of the community and employee morale alike. Its leadership team regularly organizes events including food drives, fundraising, blood drives, and supports local schools and educational initiatives.

Wasserstrom, based in Columbus, Ohio, ranks No. 5 in FER’s 2023 Top Dealers Report with $652 million in revenue in 2022.
