Zone Climate Services, a Midwest-based company providing commercial and industrial refrigeration and HVAC services to grocery stores, convenience stores and foodservice warehouse customers, has acquired Smart Care Equipment Solutions.

Zone Climate Services will combine under the Smart Care banner, with Zone Climate Services being rebranded as Smart Care Climate Solutions. The acquisition will allow the company, it says, to better serve customers as a “united group” and will operate in all 50 states with over 1,100 technicians.

Henry Lees-Buckley, CEO of Zone, will become CEO of the combined entity and will report to the board of directors. Bill Emory, current Smart Care CEO, has been named chairman of Smart Care Equipment Solutions and will provide strategic oversight to the business while reporting to the board of directors. Gyner Ozgul has been named president and COO of Smart Care Equipment Solutions and will report to Lees-Buckley.

“Smart Care and its portfolio of companies have a track record of exceptional growth, and I am excited to work with their skilled management team,” says Lees-Buckley in a press release. “We share a common vision of superior service for customers, a best-in-class workplace for technicians and aggressive pursuit of acquisitions.”

The company will continue to have corporate offices in St. Paul, Minn., and Alsip, Ill.
