Barbecue Chain Plots Canadian Expansion
The latest development deal comes a year after the brand first entered the country.
Texas-style barbecue chain Dickey’s Barbecue Pit is continuing to take its fare far and wide.
With more than 550 Dickey’s Barbecue locations across the U.S. and eight other countries, the brand is now plotting further growth in Canada.
Under a franchisee development deal with entrepreneur Muhammad Faisal, Dickey’s will bring more than 20 new restaurants to the Greater Toronto area, it announced this month.
Dickey’s first debuted in Canada a year ago. Earlier this year, the brand opened a new location in Ottawa, Canada’s capital city, which marked its fifth location in the country.
Currently, Dickey’s also has a presence in Botswana, Brazil, Egypt, Japan, Pakistan, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates.
Dickey’s Barbecue, founded in 1941, is part of Dickey’s Restaurant Brands, which has more than 700 restaurants nationwide across its brands: Wing Boss, Trailer Birds, Big Deal Burger and bbqathome.com
