Playa Bowls Scoops Up New CEO
The newly appointed executive succeeds Rob Giuliani, the brand's co-founder.
The superfruit bowl chain Playa Bowls has appointed former Smoothie King executive Dan Harmon as its CEO, effective immediately.
While at Smoothie King, where Harmon served as president and COO, Harmon launched several initiatives focused on profitability, productivity and ease of operations. Prior to that, he spent more than three decades growing his passion for franchising and refining operational processes with brands including McDonald’s, Papa Murphy’s and Potbelly Sandwich Works.
Playa Bowls, founded in 2014, has over 175 shops across 20 states. Under Harmon’s leadership, it intends to continue growing its footprint across the U.S.
Harmon succeeds Playa Bowls’ Co-Founder Rob Giuliani, now chief innovation officer for the brand. Giuliani will continue to play “a critical role” in Playa Bowls’ strategic development, a press release notes.
