Red Robin’s New Hire to Lead Brand’s Tech Strategy, More

Red Robin announced the appointment of Darla Morse as its executive vice president and chief information officer, effective April 12.

Morse will lead the company’s enterprise technology strategy and implementation, including digital platforms, corporate and restaurant systems, data management, security and infrastructure, according to a recent press release. She hails from Inspire Brands (owner of Arby’s, Buffalo Wild Wings and Sonic Drive-In, among others) and CKE Restaurants Holdings (Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s), among other companies.

Paul J.B. Murphy III, Red Robin’s president and CEO said that Morse “brings to Red Robin significant experience enabling business strategies through technology solutions that elevate guest engagement, operational execution and brand affinity.”

“Her strong track record in the restaurant and entertainment industries will help accelerate our transformation strategy and related technology evolution,” he added. “We believe she is a great fit for our company as we position our brand for sustained, profitable growth.”

In other company news, Red Robin recently highlighted the rollout of three delivery-only brands: The Wing Dept, offering wings and sides; Fresh Set, offering salads, wraps and sandwiches; and Chicken Sammy’s, offering chicken sandwiches, tenders and more.
