Welbilt Inc. has announced the promotion of Leonard Lam, who started last week as senior vice president and managing director for its Asia Pacific region.

Lam has already worked in Welbilt’s APAC region, serving most recently as its vice president of marketing. Last year, he took on the added responsibility of overseeing APAC’s manufacturing operations.

Lam has been with the Florida-based company since 2007, when it acquired Fabristeel, where he was the business development manager. He studied economics at the University of Manchester and is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. He also has attained NAFEM’s Certified Foodservice Professional qualification.

“Leonard brings a well-rounded background to his new role,” said Phil Dei Dolori, global vice president and managing director of Welbilt’s APAC and Europe, the Middle East and Africa regions. “His experience in driving improvements in APAC’s marketing, operations and finance functions make him well-suited to assume leadership for the APAC region and to work directly with customers to help them and us achieve profitable growth.”

The global foodservice equipment provider’s portfolio of brands includes Cleveland, Convotherm, Crem, Delfield, Frymaster, Garland, Kolpak, Lincoln, Manitowoc Ice, Merco, Merrychef and Multiplex.
